Fuel tank. Early or late?

It's time for a new fuel tank (the rot has set in!). Mines an early 90 the tank should be NSR9225. It has however been "updated". It could be using the later ESR2242 tank. Does anyone know how to tell the difference and if are they interchangable as such.
Cheers

From what I can find, the ESR2242 is a direct supercession to the NRC9225. Both are pump in tank types and should be interchangeable, although at least the early diesels had a plain feed pipe in the place where the petrol ones had the pump.
