How do you do yours?

The big bonnet splat!!

I have noticed people have put them on very differently!!

I myself chose the straight on view, what about the rest of yer?

Hate to say it, but I'm pretty sure that stick-on front number plate is illegal..........

13mm between letters, 13mm boarder, 38mm between groups ,right font, right size letters, on a white reflective backgroung, facing forward, registered before sept 1 2001 ... :-k

nope looks good to me . :dance: :dance:


And mines the same , had it on for 5 years and gone through 5 mot's at three different test stations ....

I think it just looks wrong because it only has 2 numbers.... :D

I thought they had to be within a certain number of degrees of vertical, but I've been wrong before :)

I think there's now a rule that plates have to have the postcode of the place that supplied them on - just another bit of big brother's apparatus under the guise of "reducing fraud" (yep, because criminals won't just steal numberplate making kit and make up false plates with a postcode from the other end of the country...). I know a colleague of mine had his car fail its MOT because it had the original plates which didn't include a postcode.

I thought they had to be within a certain number of degrees of vertical, but I've been wrong before :)

The MOT requirement is that they can be read from a certain distance. If they are too 'flat', this becomes a problem. It was never a probem on my MG Midget, but it was rather lower than a Disco bonnet!!

Wizard, sorry to go off topic but where abouts did you get the sticker with the Devil lady sat on the Land Rover badge? I've been looking for one of those since I saw one on a series 2 at the eastnor show.

they also have to have a British Standards reflective background, which stick on's don't have.  You can still buy them, then again you can buy plates without the suppliers details on them, it's not illegal to sell them, only fit them.

surely more speedy cameras read the rear plate? but yes, plates have to have the dealerships address from where the plate was purchased. but if your worried and want to get around it on a mot just put the old plate on for the test.
