new motor
« on: June 30, 2009, 06:20:30 »
well after weeks of trawling around looking at rotton discos - over priced tat - and vehicles that should be crushed - let alone be on the roads - I have given up on the search for a 4x4 and instead have brought a 1996 Ford Transit minibus!!!!!!!
it has 7 seats in the back, which is more than enough (all removeable too) most of the usual transit rust traps seem to be remarkably free from attack, and in a few weeks will have a gas cooker and sink added for those essential cuppas when on days out....
it has MOT till may 2010 and tax till then end of this year, and i ended up basically doing a swap with my scenic!!!!
so a happy chappy at the mo!
(I would post pictures but I think you all know what a ford tranny looks like!)

I really should get something like that, is just that I would only use it occasionally (well monthly)  for moving stuff and we only have 1 sprog. Still I bet you love the thing and the economy on Vans is not bad at all, bet its the same a s a disco if not better.

it's trendy to use ex commercial minibus over a people carrier now according to a tv prog the other day.

mount is for my VHF antenna (2metre amateur)..and with the price of MPV's no wonder people are getting minibus's..local guy wanted £1500 for a P reg galaxy with no service history, 200,000 on the clock and more rust than the titanic
