Hi all
« on: July 12, 2009, 20:14:48 »
Hi all,

Well I'm the Senior Engineer for a HGV trailer repair company, but have been contracted out ta take care of part of a large fleet of trailers in Harwich.

I currently live in Kesgrave, But am from Aldeburgh.

I have been a member of SLROC from 2006, and am also a Slroc marshall, This is the 2nd Landrover I have had, but the 1st that has been in a condition that would pass an MOT.

Me and some of my friends club up now and then and take ta the green lanes, And go on camping trips each year, we are "Muckers Muckers"

Here are some Pic's of me Landy.

Just some of the mod's I have made, Air intake, Home made light bar,
Std de-carbon shocks, 1'' droppers front & rear, de-carbon stear damper, Polly bush kit, Home made bumper from some plate and a road sign pole, Stear guard, Side tree Sliders, Front & rear Dif rock sliders and Sill rock sliders, plus lots of other bits n bob's

Still loads ta do, but that's what I love about my Landy.

PROJECTS

At the moment I am in the middle of a new project, I have picked up an old Sankey narrow track trailer and am trying ta make it into my new camping trailer at as little cost as I can.

So now when I have put up my tent, I will have all the other stuff one needs ta go camping ta hand and in it's own little place, so less unpacking and repacking :D .

Step1 The Trailer,

Step2 Some Steel work, Over run brake service & Brakes stripped down.

Step3 More Steel work done.

Step3 Yet More steel work & Floor cut to size.

Step4 Yet More Steel work done.

Step5 Steel work for the body is done, just steel work for the 3x doors ta do & then the skin.

Step6 Work Starts on side door.

Step7 More work done on Side door.

Step8 Work Starts on the tail door.

Step9 Wheels go on + Some more work done.

I am goin ta have ta replace my REAR X MEMBER, So 1st i'm goin ta have ta make one.

Step1 Get some steel.

Step2 Cut n Weld.

Step3 More Cuts n More Welds.

Step4 Well I have stripped all the gubbins off the back of my rear X member ready for the cutting to begin.

Step5 Body tabs cut, drilled n welded on.

Step6 Recovery points get welded on.

Step7 Work starts on the chassis mounts.

Step8 Weld hitch support plate on the back and make it all shiny ready for paint.

Step9 Remove old Xmember.

Step10 Chassis mounts start ta take shape.

Step11 Weld on and paint
