drowned landrover need help

hello there guys 6 months ago i went bit to deep with me landy! it is a defender 90 200tdi. it sucked some water up. i have replaced turbo as old one was [!Expletive Deleted!]. but she sounds like she is runnin on 3 cylinders and smokes when u accelarate. i drined oil before i started it and oil does not look like it has any water in it, does anyone have any idea.?????
also she has been stood for 6 months and selects all gears but wont select reverse???

It sounds like you may have bent a conrod. looks like a complete stripdown is on the cards.

oh dear i really hope not lol i did not know if it could be the injectors bloked up.

I would agree with the above......but i do know of a very good 200tdi defender motor for sale  ;)

where abouts is he located and do u know what is included in with it ie alternator turbo etc? also what year is it out of?

running on 3 will either be a injector or a bent rod.....i'd expect to see a bent rod personally
reverse is dead simple, reverse light switch and the plunger will be siezed

Just another thought as a mate of mine did the same thing last week.

Check your fuel is ok as its been stood up for a while, also make sure thiers no water in it

yeah thanks funny enough i had the same thought on way home from work think i will drain fuel and put fresh in it for the sake of 40 quid it is worth it

*update* took head of today and there is no damage to push rods. vavles. or any damage to cylider head. so goin to put new rings in why it in bits new pushrods and head gasket etc and new set of injectors and hope she will be ok *fingers crossed*

not being stupid but u did turn the engine over so no 1+3 were at tdc and measure piston petrusion, and same again for cylinders 2+4 ?
just to check for bent rods ?
