Intermittent fuel delivery system problem - 2002 TD5
« on: August 09, 2009, 15:50:59 »
Hi All,

I have an intermittent fuel delivery system problem that seems to be weather dependant.

In hot dry weather I have to re-prime the fuel system virtually every time I go to start it when it has been stopped for a while. 1 hour is usually long enough. Sometimes it takes 10-15 mins of priming before it will start. It rarely starts the first time I crank it over; usually it takes 2 or 3 goes. :? After I get it to start it works fine.

In cold wet weather I don't have any problems. :-o

Any ideas?
Gas Main works are like ants... You never see them in the winter, but once the summer arrives they appear everywhere.

make sure the breather to the tank isnt blocked
the fuel is syphoning back to the tank by the sounds of it
