she failed today on the number plate lights now sorted the other one was oil on the hand brake shoes not what it should have been need to replace shoes and oil seal anyone now is it hard to do in thinking it will be dirty but not to hard
and is it just clean old oil off and take the bit that hold brake drum and prop off fit new seal and shoes and put back together or is it not that simple :D

Easy job,put new oil seal in and burn the shoes with a torch or stick em in the oven. It burns the oil outa em!!!!! 5 min job!

you might want to recon the mechanism in there to... theres like 2 round cylinders that go up a litle slope to expand the shoes. I had this recently where the handbrake was lose but shoes would not relese. I just cleaned them up with wd40 and then regreased. its like new now.

took it all to bits cleaned every thing down now how to undo the big nut do i need to get someone to put foot on brake to release the nut thats what im thinking and do you need a puller to get the bit out that is behind the nut whitch is a 30 mm one and its one dirty job oil all over the place

Drain about a litre of oil out of the transfer box first, otherwise it comes out of the gearbox flange when you slacken the nut off.
