my new daily drive
« on: August 18, 2009, 11:50:54 »
i finally decided to get myself a halfway decent car, and here it is :)

1995 V8 auto ES
105k miles
full leather, aircon, cruisecontrol leccy windows and roofs and best of all it seems to be in tiptop condition
i probably paid over the odds, it was 1990 quid, but it seems well worth it :D

only had a few faults so far.....
1) cruise control didnt work - so i replaced all the vacuum hoses, works a treat now
2) rear door doesnt unlock right - the button pops up but drops back down, you have to hold the key in the unlocked position to open the door
3) the passenger electric window goes the wrong way..... up for down, down for up - and its one-touch up too so it aint the button thats wrong.

anyone got any ideas on 2 and 3?

2, door lock spring
3, someone has had the switch apart and put it back together wrong cos it should be one touch down not up?

I agree with Karlo on 2 and probably 3 too.

IIRC there's a connector to the window motor inside the door itself. Maybe someone's jammed it in the wrong way round?

The simple solution is to turn the switch upside down in the panel  :-k

The motor runs thw wrong way, possibly it's been stripped or rewired.  Swap the wires over and all should be well.
