Fuel Tanks
« on: August 27, 2009, 21:58:19 »
Hi Folks
Just a quick one, should be an easy answer (hopefully)

SWMBO has a fairly good 1.6 Vit,5 door, which has sadly got a bit of a leak on the tank.

A mate of ours is breaking a 3 door Vit and the question is, are the tanks the same? Will save us a few£££ if so - if not, then its 'Plan B'.

Thanks in anticipation

hi Chris

im afraid its plan B the lwb petrol tank is larger than the swb version

im sure with mods it can be made to fit by extending the the seam on the tank to match the chassis mounts

Chris,

OMG!! you're alive!!! - sorry to hear 'bout teh leaky zook, is that white one up at Cliftongrade's yard? might be able to scavenge some more bits off it!!

Gaffa and cableties won't be any help here, just some careful patching methinks.
Mainly found lurking underground and drivin my vit off road

Hi Guys
Thanks for the replies - I kinda guessed it wouldn't be that simple, but you never know unless you ask!

It may have to wait a little while so we can get a few pennies together - the cooker decided to pack up the other day so that got prority on the £££'s - we can get by without the Vit, but not the cooker!

Thanks again,

Regards
