Discovery interior lights
« on: September 06, 2009, 09:54:49 »
I hope someone can help.
I have a 94 Discovery when the front doors open the interior lights don't come on.
But the do when the rear doors and the boot open.
Is it something really obvious or am I going to have to have the dash off?
Any advice is gratefully received.

hi jkseries.
have a look at your front door posts look for the curtesy light switch it has a x head screw in it to hold it to door frame, remove this and the switch will come out.
be careful  removing it as the cable is a bit brittle look at the switch ,you will see the electrical  contacts .Clean these and also where the switch contacts the door frame, this may get you going .
If not remove the off side passenger door switch its the same as drivers door .
splice a cable into it and run it to the front curtesy light switch and away you go .
it worked for me.
