That has to be one of best and most well thought out rebuilds I have seen. Congrats on a very very good job mate.

Congrats on a very very good job mate.It does make me chuckle when people talk about their 'full rebuilds' when they are actually little more than a chassis swap or the like. I wouldn't call mine a full rebuild since I haven't touched the engine beyond a few seals and gaskets, or the front diff, or the transfer box.....!! My main aim is to have a rot free chassis and good wiring for reliability. Then all the underside metalwork sorted and painted so it lasts as well as I can expect. But as you can see, I got a little carried away :lol:There are times when all I want is to have it finished, but it is fair to say I do generally enjoy the process. We are just about to make some billet aluminium CB mounts that bolt to the roof. Then a billet alloy breather manifold! It's so nice having our own CNC machining centre :dance:Just in the process of building some aluminium speaker 'pods' to go in the roof right in the back corners. They will cover the rear upper light wiring and will have interior lights underneath that come on when the rear door is opened. Not sure how they will perform accoustically, but they are in a Land Rover, so I won't be able to hear them anyway
It's closer to a rebuild than most people get. But why messy with the engine and transmission if it works!

Apologies Tanglefoot, i did read it the wrong way :oops:Protective, Moi I have seen Steve's 90 in the flesh and know he has put a lot of time and effort into getting it right, (not to mention money), and can appreciate that he wasnt going to waste money on an engine he's going to replace.Check the link out and you will see the results so far.
Steve when you going to be knocking them spacers out for mud clubbers ?
nice build , nice site. all to a very high standard :clap:I couldn't quite work out the link to crown diffs, as its mini parts! but google sorted that
Quote from: Tanglefoot on September 22, 2009, 21:48:09Steve when you going to be knocking them spacers out for mud clubbers ? :lol:We looked at it, but using 7075 material would make them too expensive and there are plenty out there already. But I suspect they use the lower strength 6082 material.Quote from: Disco-andy on September 22, 2009, 21:51:19nice build , nice site. all to a very high standard :clap:I couldn't quite work out the link to crown diffs, as its mini parts! but google sorted thatJust had a look and it works fine for me :? Not sure how you got a different link. Very strange.
