TD5 Oil Pump Bolt
« on: September 17, 2009, 09:42:12 »
Hi All, I have a 2002 TD5 Disco,132k. I have been reading about issues the early TD5's have with the oil pump
bolt coming loose and the obvious consequences this has for the engine.

My question(s) - My truck is the first of the face lift Disco II's, does anyone have any knowledge as to whether the 2002 UK face lift models were fitted with
the modified oil pump bolt (LYP101400 - I think?) and secondly whether there is any reasonable way (without removing the sump) to tell if the bolt is becoming
loose.

General feedback on whether this is a common fault or experience of it would be welcome as well

IIRC it was only the first couple of years of the TD5 that had this issue so the later Facelift models are find.
