« on: September 19, 2009, 18:10:53 »
hi all, right, centre diff lock isnt working on my 300 tdi 90 i think??.. :-k ive removed the back prop to change a whining diff and thort id see if the diff lock was working by trying to move the vehicle and it duznt move. the light doesnt work either on the dash, what is the problem? new secondhand transer box? or is it an easy fix, everything else works fine with the truck though it has done 160000 miles. any advice be great, cheers.

probably the lever full of crud and seized due to lack of use, usually happens on road warrior disco's. I think the usual approach is to take cover of the top middle of seat box (or driver floor pan?) to get at it, clean it up and try and free up the lever where it enters the box. There' lots of forum thread about it.

thanks tanglefoot thats a job for 2day then, ile give ita go and see, cheers

all sorted now, mainly covered and jammed with alot of crud, but also the linkage was slack and therfore the leaver wasnt being allowed to go far enough over becasue of the thick metal gasket/plate holding the second rubber gaiter down, cheers. :D
