I had heard a rumour from another MC member a couple of weeks ago, but we hadn't confirmed it at the time. I drove past and the sign had gone from outside, so I guessed it was true.

It's a shame about the site, but it was his 'baby' and I didn't think the rest of the family would be interested it keeping it going.

I've always got on with John very well and found him a down to earth chap. Sad loss.

Very sorry to hear that my thoughts are with the family.
Hopefully someone will keep the site running.
Thanks,

Not sure if its true but i heard on the grape vine that breckland landrover club are trying to buy the site. At least it would continue to get used but im sure it will  end up a green oval only site!

If Breckland do buy it, it would be for their use only and yes Green Oval only.

Such as life mate, I know the feeling! My x90 project sits round a mates house doing nothing and my 924 sits in the garage also not getting much attention. Were in the middle of selling up and moving house too so its all a bit busy and expensive at the moment.

Pah! You're both just making excuses  :P

I hadn't heard the Breckland rumour. I did wonder if I should ask the wife if she fancied a business venture (she likes playing with stocks and shares and this would be so much more interesting!)...... but I'm not sure I'd want to spend every weekend up there and I suspect it would have to be the way to make it pay.

That is sad news. I knew John well when I lived in Norfolk and he often called on me as relief instructor at Ruhall.
Happy days.
Sadly lost contact when we moved. You always knew where you stood with John as he spoke his mind.

THis is Very sad news, John was a great guy, really into his 4x4s and chatting before the events.
He seemed so well and fit, its a terrible loss.
