D2 hand brake/fluid light flashing on/off
« on: September 30, 2009, 19:25:14 »
Hi guys, i could do with a bit of help please. Just picked up my 1st LR a nice D2 V8 auto & on the way home noticed that the hand brake, brake fluid light keeps flashing on & off. I will even come on if the door is shut hard when parked up. Checked the brake fluid level & it's at the top  Only thing I can think of is a poss broken brake pad warning censor wire, anyone got any ideas.
Many thanks
Neil

Neil,

As far as I know there are no brake pad sensors on the D2.  I would start by looking at the switch on the handbrake itself.  The wire there may be loose and causing the intermittant flashing.

Yeah, if you gently prise off the cover from around the window switches you can then remove the plate underneath.  You should be able to see the switch from there.

Good luck

Where the wires enter the top of the master cylinder, the can corrode, check the are not touching.
