All included in the cost of retention, Your original/age related plate will be given to you with a cert. to get number plates made while you wait for your new V5c

The DVLA will put the original N Plate back on.
It's only worth keeping it if it is worth (in the real world) £150 or more, as it is going to cost you £80 to transfer it off, £25 to retain it and then £25 for a pair of plates to put the old N reg back on.If it is an NI plate with three letters and four numbers, then don't bother, they are worth next to nothing.
