Freeing a stuck difflock lever
« on: October 10, 2009, 18:00:27 »
Got the missus a nice 300 but the difflock lever is stuck. I've got high and low box now after a lot of lubrication and waggling but whats the best way of freeing it up so I can get difflock.

You need to remove the gear lever surround etc.. and access the top of the gearbox...... the difflock lever mechanism will be siezed.....when i did mine, i removed it and did it in a vice, gently tapping it one way and the other...... and wd-ing it at the same time... be careful, as the ally casting isn't that beefy..... and the steel shaft is whats stuck...... enjoy...
gone from 200tdi.... to 300tdi... still with loads done to it, in fact, even more than the last truck...LOL!!!

If you can't get yours unstack - or get a bit too "frustrated"  ](*,) - let me know, I've got a lever here from a replaced gearbox that you can have gratis (well postage!) it if you need it.
