Did you know Lawlor ‘La La’ Varley? A Jap 4x4, Land Rover and military vehicle enthusiast, he sadly gave his unequal fight against the BIG ‘C’ last week.

His last request? A soddin’ great procession of 4x4’s through his home town of Handforth near Wilmslow in Cheshire.

Whether you knew the man or not, if you can join us in the procession (or obviously afterwards), it would be greatly appreciated by his family and friends.

Well known amongst the 4x4 community, he was also an Official/Marshal since 1997 at Weston Park International 4x4 & Military Family Show in Shrops 1997-99, Wheels ‘n’ Tracks the UK Round of the Europa Truck Trial in Hampshire 2000, National 4x4 Show & British Off-Road Motorsport Show at Trentham Gardens in Staffs 2001-03, National 4x4 Show & Adventure Travel Show at Shuttleworth in Beds 2004, Guinness World Records™ “Longest Land Rover Procession” World Record Attempt Towcester in Northants 2004-05, Off-Road UK in Leics 2005, Guinness World Records™ “4x4 World Record Attempt Weekend” Towcester 2006, 4x4 Market events in 2008, LandyJumbles in 2008, plus the “War & Peace” military shows at Whitbread Hop Farm in Kent 2003-09. Yes, he was a true enthusiast!

See you there, we’ll raise a glass or three to a thoroughly good bloke!

By the way, I’m posting this request on every 4x4 and military forum I know, ‘La La’ knew a lot of people up and down the country … trust you don’t mind?
