possible faulty turbo and shot oil seals and bearings

i have just benn told that the smoking on my disco and the lack of power when pulling away could be the oil seals are shot and also bearings anyone know if this an expensive job i am currently taking the sump off and doing oil change and re-sealing the sump but as for the turbo side could do with some advice when i go to pull off it seems if i put my foot down it takes few seconds for it to get going. would appriciate any advice or if anyone knows someone who could look at it local to huntingdon    thanks

id say your cheapest option is to find a turbo from a local scrappies.... just exchange the whole unit.
beware tho, cos you may end up with just the same problem if not straight away then not too far into the future. depends what state the replacement turbo is in.
ive not had to encounter a turbo change up to now so i dont know what the score is with reconditioned or new ones.
