I wouldn't worry too much about all the figures on that web page. Most of the important information is in the title. 12000lbs maximum line pull would be more than enough to winch a discovery about and the first figure in the table is 12 volts so basically it should fit and work, However.... there has already been a lot said about cheap winches from non established brands on this forum and many others. Personally I would describe the quality of this sort of winch as variable. Some people get on ok with them and then there are others that don't.

As well as ebay, keep checking the for sale sections of forums, I bought my Superwinch EP9 from a member on this forum second hand, but in new unused condition complete with an additional unused synthetic rope and hawse. It wasn't the bargain of the century, costing a fair bit more than that one on ebay, but was still very reasonably priced and has since proven to be a very dependable winch.

Thats very similar to the one I have, not fast by any stretch of the imagination and noisier than most other winches i've heard but works when I need it which is once a month as a recovery vehicle on trialing day.

Looks very similar to one i purchased a few months ago http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Recovery-Winch-12000Lbs-12v-by-Extreme-Terrain_W0QQitemZ290370410710QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Trailers_Transporters_Parts?hash=item439b6cd8d6 and it has been fine so far, and has done its job in the few times i have had a chance to use it.

what about spares though? are they obtainable or is the winch scrap for sake of service parts?
All those Chinese winch seem of the same ilk just with different badges, people seem happy with them but also read of service/spares suppliers laughing when trying to maintain them ... true or not?

Careful when you say Chinese. Where you do think Warn winches are made ;)

Quiet often you see spares going through ebay so not impossible to get hold of. Also if they are all the same, champion, t-max.... might be possible to get the brake parts and other consumables to fit?
