« on: November 18, 2009, 09:24:44 »
1994 300 ES auto, twin airbags,,i have changed the rotary coupling and now the horn works, but the srs light is still on. It was on before, but pulsed slightly, now it is on but no pulsing. Is there a reset procedure i can carry out ?

the light is on on mine, and varies between pulsing and not. From what i have researched, on here and else where i dont think that you can reset them yourself. they unfortunately need plugging into diagnostics kit to find and reset the fault. As far as i can tell its not an MOT failure, but the light is annoying.

Is there any way of turning the light off? I have twin airbags fitted to my ES but have disconnected them as I go off road with mine. can you disconnect the airbag ECU or something?

I've tried tape over the light but it keeps coming loose.

Take the bulb out, or cut the wire and wire the bulb into the oil light. That way it comes on with the ignition and the light goes out with the engine coming on. Im not sure it is strictly the thing to do, but I have done it on a couple of vehicles as requested.

used to do the same on my disco when i had it. sometimes it pulsed varying on with part of SRS flashed and sometimes didnt. was like it for 3 years. I got used to it. not an mot failure just an advisory . could always put some black insulation tape over it?
