More bling......
« on: November 25, 2009, 16:20:21 »
Err, sorry, I mean functional, well engineered aluminium products

Made up some billet ally brackets on the CNC mill to fit the roll cage front hoop. Then used a stainless steel number plate backing we carry in stock for Mini's. Made a pressing block to countersink the plate so the screws are flush with the front face. And.....

So are you going to start to sell some of  the modifications you keep making?

Not sure. The problem is that many of them are so specific to my build that they would have limited use to other people. The number plate mounts, for example are only suitable for 45mm tubing.

And more.....

This is my little breather manifold to mount on the bulkhead. The ports are BSP to take standard pneumatic fittings.

Your work is getting very close to machined pornography!

It would be a shame to get it mucky or hide it under the bonnet.

I'd buy one (if I didn't already have one) - I'm sure others would.

The problem with one-offs is the set up cost. Simple items with 3 or 4 operations tend to hover around the £200 mark for the set up charge. This is what often also kills off the possibility of running a small batch. The £200 spread across 10 items is still significant on top of the piece price.

We would like to look at different markets, but we don't have the confidence outside our current Mini parts area.
