does paint stripper go off?

just wondering does paint stripper go off? ive been striping some paint work off my my old defennder doors and the paint stripper only works on the bit where its actually poured on, if i spread it around it does nothing. is there a better way of doing it? thanks, William

use some nitromors mate,that'l get it off for certain,but be careful,cause it is toxic,and i will burn ya hands,so wear gloves goggles and a mask,but its good stuff.

use brake fluid that does the trick

Brush plenty on then place bin liners on top & leave overnight  ;), thats how I used to do it when doing bare maetal repaints

Nitromors doesn't seem to go off. I've got a tin here that dates back a few years and will still take paint off.

What I have found is that some paint is surprisingly resistant to the stuff. An old diecast model train I was restoring required two or three applications to remove all of the original paint!

Modern paint stripper is a bit rubbish as the H&S types dont like selling anythink you cant drink or let dolphins swim in.

I was told by someone that mixing casutic soda with wallpaper paste was a good alternative (have not tried that, be careful if you do)

went in the garage for something else today and looked at the door, and some bits of paint that i applied the strripper to just fell off with a quick scrape so i will try the overnight with bin bags method tommorow, applying the stuff really thickly.

incidentaly any opinion on colour: i really like the yellow 110 truck cab on page 50 of junes landrover, anyone know if thats an offical landrover colour or what it is? think it looks good on a flatbed/truckcab, which is what mine is. lots of colours dont suit flatbeds/truck cabs because of the small amount of body work, i think you need a bold colour, in my opinion :)
