for a while now Ive wanted to get a truck as a daily drive. a few reasons for this...main reasons are i need something to tow the disco around with, i need more room to transport bits i collect and finally....to [throw it] off my nabourgh......stupid tree hugging hippies!(but that is a rant for another day)

i have looked at hilux's.....there ok but more of a big car and have a monstrous arse!

looked at 90s and 110s which i really like but i dont want a county for reasons i wont go into, the "van back" ones are nice but decided that the lack of visability would irritate me long term

diddnt look at l200's because i hate them!(along with the other associated twincabs)

nissan navaros(is it navaro? the one you dont see in any other colour than black?) are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too big

dont want rear seats or a crew cab, but dont want a full truck body......toyota did a thing that sort of suited my needs but i was unsure on the offroad abilities of the newones (its got to do that too)

i diddnt know what i wanted to get untill i tripped over a photo on another forum and its got me thinking

a king cabbed 110......
2 front seats
a dry secure(ish) place behind the seats for "things"
a truck bed still capable of holding things
still good offroad
it will look bad ass!
and will still annoy my naborough something fearce! :D :D :D :D :D :D

an absolute winner!

the thing im unsure of is the SVA thing, would it require one? pretty sure its only for chassis mods but ill have to move a bulkhead..... ive tried to avoid the subject ince i started the disco  so i dont know.

your thoughts please

aslong as your only altering the body and not the chassis you will be ok

Are you basically considering a utility station wagon, just without the rear doors?  cos that will look awesome,  and is perfectly possible,   cos they are a few people who have put a 90 roof and sides onto a 110, and created exactly what your describing,

Im sure someone will come along with some pictures in a min

yes, that is baisically it.
the cab will be shorter than the crew cab modle though, just to make it harder for my self
idea is to get a 110 truck, cut the roof, move the bulkhead back and fill in the gaps.....probibly not that easey but hey!

Rob did his and IIRC Mike (extremeteam) too, there were some piccies on the modified section.  Only a LR is meccano enough to simply bolt the conversion on.  Because of the spearate chassis you can do what you like to the bodywork as long as it is safe, secure and bolt to an original chassi mount you should be fine.  If you are keeping the profile of a Defender then there really shouldn't be any issue with a body swap.
