Disco 300TDI key fobs
« on: November 29, 2009, 20:46:14 »
Hi guys
Got a problem with the keyfob on my  96 300tdi. The keyfob only intermittently opens or locks the central locking.
I've changed batteries in both fobs to no avail. Tonight, after trying to get it locked all afternoon, thought If i switched on and off it might help,  the mobiliser light in on, on the dash, but the car will start and run.
Anyone have any ideas as to what it might  be or is it easy to bypass the whole lot and just get it locking on the key.

take apart the fob, the rubber buttons on the PCB come apart, the rubber nipple had a metal holding bit and underneath is a small metal disc that makes the connection. i re fitted mine, and it worked, but i took the precaution and bought a new one for £17 of ebay, make sure you get the number off the back, then my local LR specialist programmed it for me (it takes 10 minutes) now i have no issues whatsoever.
