Quick question if some one has the answer for me  :cool:


My td5 has the speaker and amp package, with the auto changer under the seat,

my problem is auto changer is'nt reading cd's.

if i put an after market cd play in. will it still run the amplifier and rear speakers?

The speakers will run from the head unit, depending on how the amp and that is wired up it will either run from the speaker outs or the line level output via phone plugs.  Take it out and have a look, or hunt for a S/H CD changer on flea bay.

No it's a landie something else will break and it will blow up.

if its the same setup as the 300 tdi then as long as the conections are the same you can use anymake cd changer...........

Take the CD changer unit out of the vehicle. Take it apart and clean the changer mechanism and lightly oil it. Then clean the read head with something similar to acetone (ask SWMBO for her nail polish remover!) and put it all back. Its dead easy as the unit contains very little electronics - its all in the head unit. Did this with mine and it lives again!
