We've got a covering in not so sunny South Yorks - guess whose RR is poorly again :(

Had to go out in it in the Mondeo earlier - at least RRB has very kindly fixed the heater switch in it, thank you!

no pics, but here the snow of this morning that has melted due to traffic is now freezing due to the ground temps.  4 recoveries so far from the ice rink that is the area around my house on a hill.  I couldn't quite manage the 7.5 tonner that sensibly parked and tried to anchor when he felt the slide.  He has since continued down the hill and is now settled against some poor blokes Rover214.

I was shocked to find a number of the spectators asking how much money I had made, has the state of this country really got that bad?

Stayed in Swaffham last night. Left mine with hardly any snow but buy the time I got there there was a good 18 inches sitting on top of the walls and gardens with the roads completely covered despite the best attempts of gritters and snow ploughs :D Carried on snowing heavily all night although it didn't seem to get any deeper on the ground.

Decided to walk to the high street in the morning and had a very near miss with a tree. Walked along the road as the pavement was deep in the white stuff and was about to walk under a heavily laden bough that spanned the road. Before I reached it I heard a loud crack and a lot of the snow dropped off. Decided to get up onto the footpath that was just out of it's reach and carried on. As I passed it there was an even louder crack and it came crashing down blocking the road  If it hadn't of given that first crack there would of been a good chance I'd of been underneath it taking photos like i had been further back along the road

On my return journey there were several cars struggling to turn around in the snow because they couldn't negate the bough. I was tempted to get the Landy and clear it but it was still just about attached to the trunk which was in a rather large garden belonging to a very expensive looking period house and didn't fancy the hassle that would no doubt come about of trying to do a good deed. Also I had had a few sherbets the night before so decided against being caught on the road that early dragging half a tree away

Finaly got a good dose of it over night so couldn't resist the temptation to go for a jolly down the untreated back roads (even the treated ones were a bit dodgy in places). Was not surprised to find complete muppets crashing about in it sliding around blind corners as they were driving far too fast and overtaking on sheet ice or compacted snow  I was surprised and a little ashamed that it was 2 seperate guys in 4x4's that were behaving like kids and that all the standard cars that I came across were actually driving extremely well in the conditions (I wouldn't of fancied it at all in my focus). I was expecting to find someone in trouble at some point but the nearest I came to it was actually when I stopped to let the dog stretch her legs and a nice family in a Freelander came alongside to check that I was ok

very little here. not even a cm I reckon and I am west of Northampton. To top it off the roads are just dangerously icy and my 4wd has broken so just 2wd as normal. Shouldnt take much more than about £600 I reckon to mend the car. deep joy!

once again, the white fluffy stuff brings chaos to the roads of the UK

This country is becoming more pathetic. I have been out on patrol round Hampshire over the last few days, and in all honesty, if people took a bit more time for their journey, used 2nd gear to get themselves out of a mess, and didn't panic, there wouldn't be so much of a problem!
