Scale model 90 ?
« on: December 21, 2009, 17:34:41 »
As its pretty awful over the winter period i thought id have a go at making a scale plastic kit, havnt made one for years.

So started looking for a Defender 90; and i cant find one anywhere!!!

Does anybody know where i can get one from, ive searched on google, looked at Airfix etc. im sure Tamiya made one but cant find any details on their web site.

Has anybody got one and where did you get it?

There an airfix made shaun the sheep branded 1:24 model of a series 2 that exists.
It looks a little basic, but might but a good base for something to start with

Britains do a nice ready made 90 in their farm range, along with matching Ifor Williams sheep trailer. I've often wondered about buying one and modding it into a challenge truck.

Tamiya make an SAS 109" Pink Panther, but no 90 that I'm aware of.

If you think this is difficult try getting a Disco 1 in model form. The only one I know of is the old Britains model which was of a 200TDI rather than a 300.

I think it was Tamiya made a Hong Kong police 90.

Not looking for a pre made, although the shaun of the sheep looks ok its not really what i was looking for.

hell buy a boxed lightweight and build that instead, might even fit in ya living room

I never seen a 90 airfix type model - plenty of different LWB models. Wonder how much it costs to commission a special run of Defender 90 models based on preorders from forum(s) members. Bet there is a Chinese plastic toy manufacturer out there up for it.

Adafish, thanks for that link; its more like what im after.

Just bought it, it will make a good base for a 300tdi im sure i can adapt that.

But if anyone can come up with another im still looking.

I've built a couple of the Airfix 109 station wagons recenlty.  One I converted to a panel van and another into a pickup.  Something to do like you said.

I want a nice model of a RRC.  Some hope

But then I want an RS2000 and a MkI Capri too.

Will let you know what they say. [-o<
