Hi fokes its me again posted a topic the other day about my 300 tdi heating its not getting warm never mind hot,i had 3 posts saying try the thermostat i have taken it out and put it in hot warter and its working fine,so i have run it without the thermostat in for a bit and its still not getting warm only teppid the temp gauge only gets up to the first mark after the letter c as soon as i stop at lights it drops down below that,has anyone any more ideas thanks for your help

Turn the heater off mate ;)

No, seriously, unless you are driving along the motorway it's just not burning enough fuel to get warm, you can try screening the radiator if you like, either wrap a carpet over the grille or slip a sheet of hardboard in fornt of the radiator itself, keep an eye on the gauge.

Chances are the heater is sapping all the heat straight out of the engine though.

Mine is exactly the same. Had a special grill cover for the 200 but Ive never seen one for the 300...
1996 Discovery 300TDi Affectionately known as Clover. 
Cooper Discover STT 33/12.50/R15, a 2" body lift off chassis. H/D springs with 50mm platform spacers on the rear. Nothing on the front as they foul the shocks :-) 11" travel rough country shocks and mountings with dislocating spring cones,  adjusted wheel arches, safari snorkel. H/D rear bumper, demountable drop plate,. H/D steering guard, QT diff guards.
tree sliders, Split charge running twin Optima's, spotlight bar with 4 whoppers on it, H/D winch bumper, 12,000lbs winch,  A bar with 2 50w mini spotlights, brownchurch full length roof rack. 2 work lights.CB,
Fine English engineering modified to work!
