discovery td5 off road
« on: December 28, 2009, 22:38:05 »
seamed a good idea to go up to cowm quarry this weekend with in 15 Min's i had ripped a front fog lamp and cracked all the front bumper so i were cheesed off for about a hour till i got in to playing again then i got right in to it went in to a bomb hole got stuck went to get pulled out forwards front towing eye got ripped off we stood around looking at it all the time exhaust going blub blub blub blub as it were under mud i had all ready put them on to the back towing eyes so we decided to pull it backwards as it were pulled back it ripped the rest of the bumper off so I'm now left with the metal bit at the back of the bumper so what I'm thinkin is a winch bumper and some axle protection maybe some rock sliders now were is a place i can get em cheap for a discovery 2 as i would rather go out for a beer than fix the dam thing

yeahh......

but dont denie it RRB you do it too!

i do

disco 2 parts are becoming harder to get becasue disco parts shut down. the disco parts rocksliders were second to none! but like i say they are no more. i think scrapiron racing are doing some (you can put a turd in a dress and call it jezablle but its still a turd......im not calling them extreme4x4)
devon 4x4 do an amazing rear bumper which sits nicely with the south down tank guard and there front bumper has an integrated steering guard which looks the part.

Ive seen a few winch bumpers on ebay i quite like the look of the guardian one its on there for 319 free delivery.
what i have found out is you need to move the washer bottle some were I'm kinda lost were.
i do like the look of the d4x4 rear bumper with the nas lights in
i like the look of the qt diff guards
not really found any rock sliders yet that i like
id also like the ally 5 bar tread plate for the doors  but they don't seam to make a kit for the disco 2
the bad think is my girl friend not very happy with me Ive been in the dog house since sunday night

I have got the D4x4 winch bumper, steering guard and rear bumper with the NAS lights on my TD5 and it looks pretty good. Washer bottle relocation is pretty much a no go as there isn't anywhere (on mine at least) that it can go - easily.

I kept the water bottle where it was and painted the exposed bit black so that it blended in.

in mine being 5 seats Ive got them boxes in the boot so I'm thinkin  of getting a 5 gal bottle that will fit in there and putting 2 holes in it for the pumps and fasting it to the side some how and then running the water pipes and the wiring up to there i know there is no room under the bonnet for anything bigger than a egg cup d4x4 do a smaller washer bottle but its about 120 quid i think which i cant justify that cost for a washer bottle
