V8 rear diff

Is the rear diff the same on an early V8 disco (ie mine) the same as a 200tdi? or RRC?

Got lots of oil coming out the bit the prop bolts onto so i assume a seal has gone somewhere. Input flange seal?

Is it an easy job? and whats the seal i'm after called, be nice to ring up safari and ask for an exact item rather than have the guessing game we normally do  :oops:

Did one on a 200tdi and it was an easy job, It's called "Seal final drive pinion"

replaced the seal today  :lol:  :lol:  only £2.50

unfortunatly had to spend £15 on a new breaker bar as mine had seen better days  

top tip of the day if your a tight ass like me is to roll the disco onto some car ramps on the drivers side front and back. lots of room to work and all the axle oil is in the wrong side of the axle so no need to drain it  :shock:

before you lot moan i did change the oil last weekend. thats why i didnt really want to drain it and put new in

thanks to cliff for the article, very helpfull however i found the nut on my flange was 1" rather than 27mm  :?
