Idiot got stuck, I left him there!

I was just up the local Mountain behind our village. We take the dogs there quite often but always stay on the paths. Sometimes we see the odd idiot in a 4x4, quad, bike etc but not too often. Today there was someone there in a v8 defender, it sounded great and looked well sorted, only problem was he was playing off the paths and chewing the ground up. He was having great fun splashing in the big muddy puddle until it cut out due to water I suspect. I watched from the hill as he got it going again and floored it to get out of the mud, this made him dig in and he is now axle deep in mud.
  He came over to us as we were leaving and asked if we could tow him out. I refused and explained that it serves him right and he shouldn't be there anyway. Besides, the last time I helped someone up there I ended up crushed between 2 range rovers and fractured my pelvis! He was not happy but we just drove off. I hope he isn't too cold!

I would have helped him out but made him extremely grateful and realise his mistakes!

It's good to teach him a lesson but is leaving him there stranded for the antis to tut about the best idea?

 id have reported him to the police, muppets who damage the lanes and countryside dont deserve any help

aye but then you become no better by going off piste without permission to do the recovery... then someone comes along and take a photo and ur in the poop too. I've yet to face that dilemma or least I don't recall anything recent. I think I would have to either make a judgement call at the time (People can accidentally go off piste and get stuck ) or just take stance of no recovery no way but make sure they not going to be in danger and then pass the problem over to authorities by making a report.

A friend drove up an hour later and he was still there, he went past another hour later on his way back and he was gone. Maybe that is lesson enough. I did make it clear to him that the reason I was not helping was that he was ruining the lane for everyone else, he said something like "Nobody comes here anyway" so it was either let him wind me up with his ignorance or leave. I chose the latter! It was clear that he knew he shouldn't be there and he really couldn't give a to$$.

I was just thinking that. I can understand why you didn't help him, it would have been hard not to have been wound up!

I have learnt to not get wound up anymore, whats the point?
 He got out, wasn't there earlier. I hope I dont get stuck now!

Happy New Year To All on MC,

As recent as today, I was sledging on the hill behind were we live with swmbo and kids, which is a public footpath, a tricked up Suzuki decides to drive up the hill then reverse half way down due to the fact he couldn't make the summit, then nearly coming down sideways and losing it, in his wisdom he reversed up a little further long and drove into the ajoining farmers field, maybe because he noticed I had been filming him on my camera. The fact is that the Viking is only 10 mins away from here  :x :x, Probably never heard of Viking Way!
Most probably the truck is not insured and taxed, I will keep my eye out for him, as its not the first time he has done this. I cannot believe people can be so plain stupid and have total  disregard when other people and children are using it.
