people buying p38's to use as toys

i have to say im shocked as to how little they are worth now i wanted one for 2 years and bought the best i could afford its my baby i couldnt trash it off road thats what the bobtails for  :-o

how many of you are using them as toys nowadays i know they are good off road but seems like a lot of car to abuse?

I take it out to play but I don't trash it - it is immensely capable though, so much so that you do easily what others thrash vehicles to achieve

i just bought a damaged dse but i'm not going to abuse getting repaired and going to use it for very light green lanes

I have to admit I'd like to see how good mine is  I remember taking the classic to tixover and there was a disco 3 on road tyres doing easily what mine was struggling to do was a tad frustrating lol just goes to show how really good the traction aids are nowadays

I use mine for heavy laning but not play an play days, yet  :wink: I have a 2 door with external cage ect.. for play days. I have fitted 265/75 16's Goodyear Wranger MTR's to my P38, CB rig with whip, removed my side steps an looking for winch bumpers to modify an fit, Rock sliders going on soon  :grin:

I know two mates who have just both sold defenders and brought p38's not seen either in action yet but both intend to off-road to some extent, both have had to pay out lots for "teething" issues already though!

Nissan Patrol GR LWB and a 3rd Gen Surf for fun...

Mine was the same paid good money for it and have spent another decent ammount on it buying them is the easy part it's maintaining the [!Expletive Deleted!] to a high standard that hurts the pockets

I'll admit that I'd be sorely tempted by one, the only thing putting me off would be the complexity. I don't mind vehicle electrics (find them easier than big heavy lumps of metal to work on) but tracing the assorted niggling electrical gremlins these cars seem to be able to throw up would scare me.
