it just went bang

looks as if my diff wanted to escape from my disco this morning. :lol: :lol:
driving to work and it went bang and locked up the rear end.   :oops: :oops:
i had a look at it tonight and it looked like this




i took off the prop and removed the half shafts stuck in the diff lock and drove it up to my garage.looks like a diff for the weekend  :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
Full time land rover mechanic part time drunk.
+4" lift ,33" special tracks.husky super winch custom front and rear bumpers .jackabil sills.sumo bars QT radius arms, cranked trailing arms.

That's a pretty full-blown failure.  SOmething has let go big time to allow that gear out of the diff casing :-.

[!Expletive Deleted!]....... i have seen this on another forum in the last week and the owner knew exactly what it was, something inside had been chewed off and blown through the casing just like yrs, but two holes. It was terminal, will see if i can find the link.

I had a rear one do that on the road a couple of yrs ago..... and my front one did it only last weekend........ i now have 4 pin diffs in both ends..!!!
gone from 200tdi.... to 300tdi... still with loads done to it, in fact, even more than the last truck...LOL!!!
