Td5 water trap

Hello M/C'ers.

I'm getting my water contamination light coming on on the dashboard.
Mostly started happening in the really cold weather we had a few weeks ago.
I've either got a bit of water in the fuel of Mr. Shell or the water trap is full if the Td5 has one.

Which brings me to a question:- Where will I find the water trap on the Td5 90,
I've had a quick butchers (in very very very very cold weather) but did not spy it.
Has anyone had this problem before?
Any pointers?????

theres a filter up behind one of the rear wheels (i think thats the one the guy changed) which sorted the problem for the fuhrer-in-law, if i remember correctly it gets hot after use so be careful

As Jay2578 said, there is a filter behind the rear wheels.
Its on the drivers side (RHD) rear.
It should have a cover, drop the cover off then unplug the sensor at the bottom, turn the drain screw at the bottom and drain off any water until just diesel runs through.

It might just be the cold weather because my light came on when it was really cold but I did not find any water in the filter. Its not on now its not so cold.

I'll take a look,
I have seen the cover near the rear wheel,
I'll take that off and release any water that may be in there,
Like yours, mine light has now gone off now the weather has warmed up a bit,
could have been condesation with the very cold weather we had,
but all in all a Land Rover should be able to operate "normally" in severe weather.

I have had the problem a few times now and the best answer anyone can come up with is condensation in the sensor. i usually have a quick check when the light comes on that its ok then stick a small piece of black electric tape over the warning light and check in a few days that it has gone out

istr this was a recall replacement on mine when very new - duff batch of sensors.  Occasionally stays on for a few seconds - never more.  I think if I was taping it over for days, I'd think there is actually some water to drain off.  The cover under the wheel arch is just a release bolt on one side then swing/lift it off the captive bracket on the other.  Can't imagine a new sensor would be expensive?  Have fun checking!
