Hi all, never delt with an alternator before apart from removal and re-fitting, i know have a whine which im 90% sure is the alternator, just wondered if there is any stripping down and solving problem or just easier replaceing many thanks

brg's dry up usually from off road debris getting in the front one and the rear brg drying up from the heat from the turbo. i did try and strip mine and gave up . its still on me bench now . i got one from mail order 4x4 . the prices vary alot. so shop around ..alan

Make sure it is not the belt first, try dripping fairly liquid onto it to clean it up.
