  Looking at your vehicle, you wouldn't  have much trouble doing that!!  I had a guy pull in front of me, as I indicated left off an island, and there is a side road everyone uses as a short cut.  He inched across the road, looking left, I'm on his right, i'm on 30 year old drum brakes, very close to 2 tonnes, cadence braking like mad, i pull up maybe two, three inches from his door, he's in a x type jag, he's now looking at my bumper, slight horror, then rolls down his window, says sorry and [!Expletive Deleted!] off!!  Could have been worse I suppose!!

lets not turn this into a debate about who should be on the road or not hey, its only a discussion call it make belive if it makes you feel better

i never go looking for trouble on the road and am a very courtious driver but as mine is my everyday car at the min its something that my attention is bought too i would of thought people wouldnt go looking for fights with the biggest car on the street  :-k

In a word, no. It's pathetic, dangerous, and gets 4x4 owners a bad name.

I do find that people give me more room in the Disco than in anything else I've driven. You don't need to be aggressive or even especially assertive, just drive it normally and nobody will push you around.

You say that, but it never ceases to amaze me how many people are happy to carve up a 2 tonne Land Rover or drive 6 feet off the rear cross member

As for road rage, I just take a deep breath and get on with life. It's too short to get angry with numpties on the road.

sounds like the invisible land rover problem, i had the same thing a few years back on a round about, see pics!

I have it continuously with my bus, i have probably 5 people a day pull out in front of it, with out a care that i might not slam the brakes on for them.

I hate morons who approach roadworks and see the, lane closed in 800yd/600yd/400yd/200yd signs and ignore them until it becomes a case of.  Oh [!Expletive Deleted!] where did those cones come from? Never mind I'll just force my way in.

Most times I'll sit in the outside lane and pace the vehicle along side of me.  Last summer in a major traffic jam where the M1 crosses over the M62  I did have a merc convertible try to squeeze in front of me As his lane disappeared. He had the roof down & I had me window wound right down and really didn't appreciate the abusive language I was getting from him & his wife. when I wouldn't let them in. & as he was getting very heated I decided a beaker of MacDonalds coke & ice would cool him down. Shame it slipped out of my hand all over her & the cars interior

Im glad that I'm not the only one that encounters the 'if im not looking they arnt there' syndrome. I swear some people must say crap another car on the road...wouldn't have expected that.
The majority of the public will look the wrong way ^ as mentioned above and then blame you for traveling on the road. I wish i didn't give a toss as there would be nothing more satisfying than stoving in some ****s car that does that... or decides that they're not going to indicate on a roundabout and the road positioning would suggest that they are going left straight on but NO they're going round or get half way around and make up their mind as to where they're going without a signal. Or the ass that decides to get so close he wants a tow off the car even when your doing the speed limit. Or the person that pulls out into a stupidly small gap and then travels at walking speed.

Thankyou for listening

unfortunatly and i am dissapointed in my self for it, i have recently used my rangie in anger, i had a running problem and i sat in a cue maybe 5 cars back at a set of traffic lights and the rangie conked out, i stuck my hazards on as i do every time, and the merc behind me (2" from my bumper) and just blasted his horn for 5 mins while i was cranking the rangie (its auto so couldnt try bump / crank start), it wasnt going, so i was about to get out to try pushing it out the way (yes 2 odd ton of range rover on my own but done it before), and the merc driver got out, called me all the names under the sun for holding him up, i stayed calm and said what can  do it wont start, go back to your car and be patient until i can get her started or i will park on your bonnet if you ive me any more abuse, he then kicked the door of the rangie and started to walk back to his car, that p***ed me off as im the only person allowed to kick it, at this i tried starting her again, wasnt going to move her out the way (because it was annoying him) then it fired and i stuck it in reverse and parked the rear diff on his bonnet, and then drove off,

  Its a shame your inhibitor switch is faulty, and that you didnt realise that she was in reverse and that when it caught you had to rev it to keep it going.... the bloke was probably more  that he'd parked 2'' from your bumper and the same with the rest of them combined with the fact that his business was more important than yours... ;)
While we're on the subject are there any BMW Volvo or Merc drivers around because i find these drivers particually ignorant and snobby. I dont think that the majority should be tared with the same brush?!

Hi guys, I'm a truck driver and I see it all day every day. I have the same 200 mile route which never differs. The laws on lorries are tightening up as are the speed limits. There is a really long stretch from woodbridge via beccles to Norwich and on those roads I am stuck to 40. The abuse I get is unreal, People really need to learn the facts before abusing someone who weighs 20 tonnes and has a tracker installed by his lovely bosses. I have cut people up on roundabouts, I have threatened someone with a lorry wheel brace and swerved to make most of the space required for me to pass oncoming traffic. would i use my landy in anger? probably. Same as i would my dads s2000 or accord. I apologise for driving slowly but if its safer to do so then I will. Just wish people bothered to learn what the rules are for other modes of transport like hgv and bus drivers are trained to do so.

I agree that many "morons" do this, but I have had many times when I have been in very slow traffic and seen the first "lane closed" sign at 800yds then tried to get across to the next lane, but more morons wont let you in so you end up driving all the way to the end. I must admit when Im in my Landrover, if no one wants to let me in then I just point the front and make a space. I hate drivers that can see you want to change lanes (at the site of the first "lane closed" sign but decide to just act like they cant see you.

Does this count as road rage...?

My mate used my 90 to drag a car after it had parked in front of his compound gates one night. The truck had been in for a service and he couldn't get out as the guy had blocked the entire double gates as he 'jammed' with a band above my mate's garage.

He pulled it inside the compound then proceeded to lock up for the night.  Truck didn't feel it, even though the hand brake was on!

Police came round in the morning and threatened him with TWOC (although they freely admitted he was a [ed: naughty]) and said next time to ring them and they'd tow it and fine him.

He never did it again mind.

I do sometimes wonder at the ability of most drivers to actually 'see' other vehicles. i used to get problems when I was on the response cars. You'd think that a large battenburged BMW with all lights flashing and sirens going, would be a clue that I was on a shout. I'd still get the morons pulling out in front, and then look shocked when I would hit the air horn, and shout loudly about where I would stick my baton, if they ever did that again!
Not exactly professional I know, but if 'driving while being a complete incompetent cretin' was an actual offence, I would have run out of tickets years ago.

do you know how to get other vehicles to see you?

tow a caravan

yep, every road user will see you coming and try and pull out of the junction before you get to them, even if it at the last second.

they will do everything in thier power to over take you even if its gonna kill them and you at the same time, and give you the abuse

i used to get angry but i just want to get away and relax
