in the 200 tdi the gear box is 4 up 2 down (r,1,3,5 at the top  2,4 at the bottom)  were the 380 is 3 up 3 down  they both fasten on to a bellhousing so should be a stright swap which ever gearbox you have the only difference is they will have different ratios in and if what ive heard is true the r380 is alot stronger gearbox the easest way to be sure the engine will fit in and not need different mounts will be remove the old engine and put it next to ur new engine and mesure up the distances between the rear of theengine and the mouting holes in the block if they are the same just chuck it in prob will be some wireing to be changed

Either box will fit either engine with a bit of swapping bolts about, you will need to re-weld engine mounts on the chassis though, think from memory the 300 are further forward,

thats pretty much what i thought(and heard), there may be a plate(??) that the gearbox bolts to that needs swapping from one engine to the other, but i think im gonna get the r380 and get used to the new position of reverse. as for welding engine mounts, theres probably gonna be a couple of bits i want or need done, so i`ll get it all done while the old lump is out.

No Need to swap rad and intercooler as they are the same

you just need the pipe work from the 300 as they are slightly different

And of course the exhaust down pipe are different  :-k :-k :-k

300 an 200 rads are different if u look 300 has a water out let on each side of the rad on a 200 the water outlets are both on the same size so use the 300 rad that way u can use standard 300 water an intercooler pipes the chassis mounts on a 300 are staggered to clear the exhuast down pipe 300 will bolt straight up2 lt77 box but if u got the r380 use it as said is a stronger box but they can suffer with 2nd gear crunch due to the syncros you can use 200 engine wiring too an u cant use 200 flywheel housin on 300 as rear crankshaft seal different u can make it fit but will enough some messin around an not worth it me personally id just put r380 an 300 in one
