Anybody know now for sure wher this unit can be found on a 200TDI S1?
Had to replace the alarm and need to find the where the CLI wire from the new alarm must go, in oder to operate the central locking from the fobs.

I'm sure it's all integrated into the drivers door actuator.
That's why they cost more than the others, and why my central locking doesn't work. :(

Don't do that just yet. I'm sure the relevant cables for remote central locking are accesible somewhere in the drivers footwell. If nobody else comes along sooner, I'll check my wiring diagram later for you.

There are two actuators on the drivers door, my alarm system pulses to the cetral locking servo in the drivers door, from there another switching unit sends the signal from the operation of the door lock to the other doors. There is a block of connectors down in the drivers footwell, however where this wire goes to exactly I've not back tracked that far in to the circuits.
But definately it controls the drivers door lock only, so you are on the right track, as mentioned if you can lock the drivers door with the keys, and all the doors lock, the wiring will be somewhere other than the door.

Right, I've been looking at the wiring diagrams and it's all clear as mud to me now. From what I can see, there's no way of interfacing the central locking to an external actuator.
The central locking has never worked on our Disco since we bought it. From the diagrams, it would apeear that only the drivers lock can lock/unlock the central locking. Can anybody confirm this as correct?
There are four wires for the drivers door unit; live, neutral and two output wires to the other doors. Nothing to actually switch it, other than what's "inside" the drivers door.

The switcher unit is a four wire unit (this is mounted horizontally on my door on a metal bracket, of which is mounted the door grab handle bracket too), but the central locking unit is only a two wire unit (mounted vertically inside the metal skin), I can have a look tomorrow on the pulsing to see how it works, it either reverse polarity sending, or a single pulse to the unit on one wire locks, and the other wire opens.
If there is a controller unit somewhere behind the dash, I've not got that deep into it, my problems were luckily not that hard to fix
Until I test the wires tomorrow I'm guessing on the controls

In mine the solenoid and switcher are all one unit. The two wires for the other doors are polarity reversing. When I looked at it to try and find out what was wrong, I proved all the other (none drivers) solenoids work fine. It's the drivers door one that's k'put. The solenoid is ok, it's the control circuit that's not working. Haven't got round to fixing that, shouldn't take long though, it's only a relay and a few discreets.

I don't know if it's the right thing that you are looking for, BUT, under the passenager side dash is a cradle type set-up.
This contains the Alarm unit and the central locking unit....and the heater blower...(fan).
The unit you seek, (bearing in mind it might not be) has 2 multi-pin connectors feeding it and a DIN style plug, which is the aerial lead that runs up inside the near side 'A' post, this is why when using the keyfob to lock/unlock it is best to do it aiming the keyfob at the 'A' post.
