Got to start somewhere and cheap is the first route.....

finally made myself a snorkel for my 200tdi...and yes its out of drain pipe :P. does the job and looks half decent. in total grand cost was £45! and that was with spare parts after. all good.
next on the list.....front bumper

do you know what, i didnt mainly cos i was against the clock doing it. but it isnt hard to do.
bought a 2m lenght of 68mm drainpipe. a couple of 90degree bends. a saright coupler, a 45degree bend. some sealer and a jubilee clip.

only thing with the idea is you will have to make a guard of some kind to protect it from being smashed by the trees in the tighter lanes. which i also made. all is good. actually went laning last night to which after a few checks and adjustments it survived a deep water crossing

lol and i defo used common sense on the snorkel job! lol maybe if i had a completely useless 4x4 road only vehicle id try the plastic bumper thing lol. or then again maybe not. money or common sense......as long as it suits the job and more we all happy :P

If money is tight then consider just removing the plastic bits from the standard bumper (cut the end caps down and refit them), add a couple of JATE rings (they fit over the chassis rail ends using the bumper mounting holes) and you're sorted. I had that arrangement on my truck for a while and never had any trouble.
