I can't understand why the rears stick out more than the front as the axles have the same track and I assume you have used the same wheels & tyres F&R?

Are the wheels the same off set ?, try swaping front to rear, as there should not be any difference from front to rear

black plastic guttering. can be heated and flattened, cut and shaped and reheated into desired curves and fixed into place in addition to standard arch.

Wheels protruding from the arch is not an MOT failure. It is, however, in contravention of the Construction and Use Act.

I went to the local truck body builders and bought a lenght of 5" wide rubber that they use to cover the slider's on curtain side'd lorries!!

Cut what i needed & use'd self tapping 10mm bolts to fix it to the arech lip useing the existing holes. Worked a treat! Cost me £40 as opposed to over £200

Here's a series with the re-formed and shaped black plastic guttering:

that was first attempt, better application of heat from gun and clothes iron could give better result, it be better on a defender existing arch too as series not made for it. Bonus is that it's semi rigid not floppy like rubber.  I do not have stickign out tyres on series now so took the silly things off.
If I was you and it bothered me that much I'd save my pennies and get proper extended arches.

Don't look that bad.

It takes a bit of getting used to!! When i done mine i said the same!!!! But know i don't mind it.

When you done the front did you use the inner arch from the original?? It helps hold the new one without it sagging, and on the rear i used some thin aluminum strips to help stop it sagging. I aslo found that adding some fixings where it looks a bit saggy helps the look aswell.
