Jimny Swivel joints

Noticed whilst doing the CC bushes on my Jimny that the swivel joints are rusty, are they supposed to be lubricated somehow (like Land Rovers) ?

Landrover joints are chromed and depending on year and model may be filled with oil rather than grease. Suzuki swivels are unprotected mild steel. The grease inside the swivwel should offer some protection if the vehicle is used daily. Mine tend to dry out as the Jimny can be stood for long periods. I us a light oiling or PTFE spray to keep them lubed. Anything heavier will  be too tacky and grit etc will stick to it damaging seals.

sorry to hijack your thread.

my old man has the same issue on his 54plate, are they servicable/renewable as on his there did not seem to be an obvious way of removing just the challice like i can on my disco? e.g. will the seals stand removing the surface rust with fine wet and dry or will that just let all the grease out quicker?

No they arn't removable. If you've only got surface rust and no big pitting you OK. To be honest, unless you into serious mud plugging the seal is little more than a dust seal so don't worry too much.
