Is it not IVA now?
I'm building a kit car and so did my friend and a few others i know, the tips he gave me were edges... they love them IIRC 2mm radius on anything that can be contacted by yourself inc interior unless thats how LR did it in the first place but thats purely from my temporary memory. Have a look on locost builders they have an IVA/SVA section which might help. Most of it is MOT stuff, i did have an SVA pdf on my computer but i cant find it and have forgotten the password anyway
I don't know weather a modded car/van is subject to the same criteria.
Just imagine your going for a MOT on steroids and check everything, split pins through Ive heard different stories on threads showing through nuts (3 threads min) just be really anal. When your going for a test take bits to fix simple things tool sets etc some places will allow you to fix and re test on the day if they're not major.

Don't know weather this helps bit killed some time for me ;)

Yes, it's IVA now - and if I remember correctly the test is about £450 !!

I put my kit car through SVA just before it changed.

What are you building John ?

If it's a conventional bobtail (as in Disco but a bit shorter in the rear overhang) then there shouldn't be any new edges. Just build to the highest possible standards throughout.

Bear in mind that while it is a big mod you're keeping a lot of things original. The tail light positions that LR would have passed with C&U regs will be the same on your truck, as will things like door lock mechanisms, hinges, and presumably most of the vehicle forward of the rear axle.

Main hassle I can think of is the fuel tank - you'll probably have to get a suitably approved replacement unit that will fit into the shortened space.

My mate has just passed his IVA for his kit car.

The testers are very particular about radiuses - we even had to sand a 2 mil radius on his plastic rear reflectors as they might be dangerous...

I'm doing my bit for the environment - I'm offsetting - at least, I park my V8 next to a Prius at work - does that count?
