Thank heavens we're out of recession...
« on: April 27, 2010, 13:39:10 »
Not really sure whether this should sit in 'Auction Watch' or 'Jokes and Funnies' but I am so glad to see the green shoots of recovery...

Here, for your delectation and reading pleasure is an offer that must, surely, be difficult to turn down...

Whilst idly looking through winch related stuff, I came across the following wee beastie...

With 100Kg pull and 5m of cable, it's a must for any self respecting LR owner....

For just shy of £1,100 (I kid you not...), I'll pop round run the winch cable through a window and then through a snatch block in the ceiling... whatever you need to lower your chandelier for cleaning!

Simples...

I ask you - why?  Has H&S obsession really taken over that one can no longer send the aged and slightly infirm family butler up a rickety old ladder to clean one's crystal?

I feel a letter to the Daily Wail coming on....

Because when you've enough money for a stately home with ceilings high enough for chandeliers a grand on keeping the 30K chandelier off the ground (and covered by the insurance companies) is probably worth it?

You and me though would suffice with a bit of string to keep the 40w pendant from hitting us on the head though ;)
