Ultimate aim of replacing standard rear bumper with tubular one so need to chang ethe rear tail light cluster o incorporate indicators.
I believ ethis isi just swapping out to series 2 rear light cluster - is this a striasght swap wiring in from the indicator in the bumper to in the rear tail cluster ?

Mine had indicators in the rear columns with additional repeaters in the (standard) bumper... I think that this has something to do with visiblity in the event that the rear door is open as the spare wheel blocks the OS indicator when viewed from behind.

However... to the point...

When I changed over to a HD rear bumper, there were no cutouts for lights and indicators (think it should be for a 200).

The 'missing' lights meant that the relay for the indicators thought that the vehicle has a bulb out of order and therefore flashes at increased speed - cured this by trial and error with a number of indicator relays.

Otherwise... all straight forward

Hope this helps

Sorry, yes the type approval includes the bumper lights that are not covered by the spare when the door is open, removing them could be an issue, if you were ever rear-ended for example.
