Hi
I am going to check the compression on Mrs wizards 1989 3.5 Rangie sometime today.
But not having a Haynes manual for it, I dont know what a good reading would be. I would guess around 150psi
Does anyone know what I should expect.
regards

From memory 150 is around the lower mark. Around 170 is good but if they are even etc....

Yeah, 170/185 but mostly well within 10% of each other.
If you get 205 like me then start checking what mods have been done ;)

Heres what I got
cyl 1 = 120
cyl 2 = 150
cyl 3 = 150
cyl 4 = 145
cyl 5 = 150
cyl 6 = 160
cyl 7 = 145
cyl 8 = 148
I bought a litre of of this stuff
AMETECH
.
I originally thought it was a bit of a snake oil type treatment, but after reading about it thought it was worth a shot.
I'll post up the compression readings once i have covered a 1K miles or so.
