my new jack mates arrive soon, would they be suitable to use as mounting points for a detachable shunter ?

Yes, I had one once and wish Ii could fit one to the LSE. Only problem I ofund was that a standard number plate won't quite fit between them once fitted.

thought as much. just need to design one that will locate into the jack tubes and lock on the recovery eyes.

Yes you don't want it spinning, mine had a small hole through the jack mate and the adapter but i was worried about it shearing off so I hardly used it.
