fuel/diesel leak
« on: May 20, 2010, 20:35:44 »
i went offroadin yesterday and had a few hickups and a few big bangs but nothink i couldnt sort in work . car was running fine traveld about 25 mile home then done abit of driving about for the misses last nite then home in the morn went to my local L.R center to get 2 hd spring retainer plates for the rear coils as 1 had snapped while offroading then back to work .
as i was fitting the hd plates i smelt diesel
ive found a leak from the pipes from the sedimenter to the lift pump it seems to go right along the chassis, hard thing is i cant find exactly on the pipe wer is is leaking  :-k it looks to be wet with diesel from buy the union wer it goes into the sedimenter for about 4 inches of the pipe but thers sum sort of protection on the actual pipe thats stopin me gettin a full view .

i would rather just replace the pipe than repair it so does any1 know wer i would get 1 or have ever done this before and is it hard ???

thanks ....

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FUEL-HOSE-PIPE-OIL-PETROL-DIESEL-10MM-3-8-/160415105557?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item25597c4215

Just spotted this on ebay

However i would think that if you went into a car spares place (ie Halfrauds) you should be able to get what you are after
Then mate the new and old pipe together with a suitable union and bobs your fathers brother !

Hope this helps :)
