Gearbox removal

I think the gearbox is ready to come out tomorrow night, Just a quick question, can it be got out leaving one of the mountings that attach to the chassis with the 3 bolts still attached? Only asking because my tank guard is a swine to get back off again cus it was fitted before the rock sliders went on and wont come of without grinding the welds back off to remove the sliders

No you can't, but its out, new R380 short comes friday

you took it out from underneath then?

im pretty sure you could have lifted it, in which case you could have left the cross member in.(or maybe not)

yes from underneath, crossmember out, exhaust off, I've just split the transfer box off tonight didn't realise its much heavier than the gearbox, took the breathers, brackets and bits off the old box, just waiting for friday's delivery now.....assembly is the reverse of....... or so they say
