I have been considering a new name for the 110. As everyone refers to it as The Ambulance I have decided on Hawkeye (the chap out of MASH). What do we think?

'Hawkeye' is a damn good name for it. I think.

On the theme of the best ever American medical series, put some furry dice in it & call it 'Klinger' (they could be his earrings  )

Hawkeye is a good name.  MASH is one of the funniest shows from the US. Besides, its not the usual sort of name for a 110, so be different \:D/ If you didn't like Major Burns how about Major Money Pit, Major Repairs or Major Mud, etc. etc. :?

I do how it says in the book. If you tighten them as it describes they are too loose and have play in them after a few miles. If you ignore it and tighten them up then they bind and fall to pieces. I can't find the bit where there is no play but they are not binding. Iain never changed the bearings in 4 years. There was no grease in them and they were as tight as they could be.

I can't see how it done

I just tighten mine up tight so theres no play and so that the wheel moves freely. oh and plenty of grease.

you need to make sure that the inner race is on properly otherwise that can cause play to develop as it works its way up the stub axle and seats properly.

Next time u do a wheel bearing Guy takes lots of pics and give us a blow by blow write up on here. we could all do with a laff!
